WLM Financial Services was formed in May 2005 through the amalgamation of Millennium Financial Services, Walker Laanemaa Chartered Accountants and Danebury Financial Group. The three firms that formed WLM were independently owned and respected businesses that had operated for many years in their own right. Over the years the principals had resisted attempts from larger organisations to 'swallow' them up as they wished to continue delivering their philosophy of ensuring client focused advice.
The combination came about after long associations between the principals. Laura worked together with Geoff Walker at Ernst & Young over 15 years ago. Geoff, a former partner of E&Y, left in 1990 to establish his own practice. Laura had also been working closely with Danebury's principal, Matthew Walker, for a number of years.
The reason for the amalgamation was to enable WLM to offer an extended range of services with greater depth of resources to our mutual clients under the one roof. A key part of WLM is to provide clients with a seamless, proactive and professional service.
